Screamin' Jay Hawkins was a blast on stage, a rollercoaster of
theatrics and a ball of musicial energy that translated quite well
to his back catalogue of records. Unlikely as it seems the season
must have put some sort of spell on him too as he recorded a live
Christmas song called 'It's That Time Again'. It
was one of four live tracks that were recorded in New York in 1985
and although it should more like a Screamin' Jay Hawkins tracks
that a Christmas one it offers a reasonable alternative to those
looking to escape the perennial festive soundtrack.
