Carrie Underwood Christmas Songs & Music

Carrie Underwood shot to fame on the fourth season of American Idol. Since then, she has made a name for herself as highly successful country music star. Unlike many of her American Idol co-stars, Underwood is yet to release a Christmas album of her own. She has however lent her talents to several yuletide tracks which appear on various seasonal compilation albums.

Do You Hear What I Hear?- 2007

Underwood opens the 2007 compilation album Hear Something Country Christmas with traditional carol Do You Hear What I Hear?. Her rendition brings a modern flavour to this favourite, with the sparse accompaniment showing off her powerful voice. Underwood appears alongside country stars such as Martina McBride, Johnny Cash and Alan Jackson.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing- 2009

Carrie Underwood gives an unusual country twist to this traditionally classical carol. Her rendition appears on the 2009 charity compilation A Very Special Christmas 7, alongside artists including Miley Cyrus, Sean Kingston and Vanessa Hudgens.

What Child is This? - 2010

Carrie Underwood continues her Christmas contributions with a rendition of What Child is This?, on the 2010 compilation Now That's What I Call Christmas 4. As in her previous Christmas recordings, Underwood chooses an age-old favourite and brings her own unique flavour to it. She does however maintain much of the classical style originally intended for this carol, harmonising the famous melody with sparse and unusual piano chords.
