Judy Garland Christmas Songs & Music

Judy Garland introduced the world to the now holiday classic Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas in the 1944 film Meet Me in St Louis. Ever since, she had been closely associated with Christmas songs, regularly performing holiday numbers on her television program, The Judy Garland Show. Despite this, the world had to wait until more than twenty years after the star's death to see the long awaited Judy Garland Christmas Album.

1995: The Judy Garland Christmas Album

This album opens and closes with the two songs most regularly associated with Garland: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and Over the Rainbow. The rest of the record is an interesting mix of carols, Christmas medleys and show tunes including Steam Heat and Alice Blue Gown. With less than half the songs on the album actually Christmas carols, this isn’t the album to play while decorating the tree, but makes a great addition to the collection of any Judy Garland fan.
