Twisted Sister Christmas Songs & Music

Over the years, we have seen Christmas music in just about every musical style possible, and heavy metal is no exception. After all, why should wailing, distorted guitars be deprived of a little holiday spirit? When American metal band Twisted Sister signed with record label Razor and Tie to release one final studio album, they surprised fans by producing Twisted Christmas, a collection of traditional carols in the group's trademark metal style.

A Twisted Christmas

2006: A Twisted Christmas

Twisted Christmas is a somewhat bizarre concept that shouldn’t work, but somehow really does. The majority of tracks are unaltered in lyrics and music; they are just amped up with Twisted Sister’s distorted guitars and screeching vocals. The result is surprisingly uplifting, with tracks like Deck the Halls and Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! sure to bring a little cheer to your next holiday party. I’ll Be Home For Christmas is soulful and modern, while the upbeat White Christmas is a fresh look at a much-heard classic. The group can’t help playing around with a couple of tracks however. O Come All Ye Faithful is sung to the tune of Twisted Sister’s hit We’re Not Going to Take It- a surprisingly perfect lyric substitution. The Twelve Days of Christmas is given the heavy metal treatment too, with the turtledoves and golden rings replaced by gifts including black mascara, skull earrings and two pairs of spandex pants! While Twisted Christmas may not be the album to play during Christmas dinner, it is a refreshing and downright musical take on ten yuletide classics.
