Wayne Newton Christmas CD

Wayne Newton Christmas Songs & Music

For some good old fashioned Christmas cheer mixed with a little Las Vegas glitz, it's hard to go past the yuletide music of Wayne Newton. Unabashedly cheesy, cheery and infectious, Newton's Christmas collections are sure to bring back memories of holidays long ago.

Merry Christmas to You

1960: Merry Christmas to You

Wayne Newton was young and sprightly when he released his first Christmas album; a catchy collection of carols given a jazzy swing treatment. Newton adds some Vegas spirit to numerous favourites including Silent Night and O Come All Ye Faithful, combining them with lesser-known tracks including the touching Remember Me At Christmas. The album was rescued from obscurity by being released on CD in the new millennium, delighting many of Newton’s fans from back in the day.

1979: Merry Christmas from Wayne Newton

Newton’s second holiday album is an upbeat collection of classics with a couple of originals (Christmas in the USA and It Could Have Been A Wonderful Christmas) thrown in for good measure. By 1979, Newton’s voice had matured into that of a smooth crooner and as such, he turns in a magical rendition of Silver Bells. Beyond this, though the album remains full of holiday cheer, there is little to write home about.
