A Simple Christmas Song
Year: 2002
Written By: Randy VanWarmer
The Oak Ridge Boys
have been around in some shape or form since the 1940's so they've
seen plenty of Christmases to know what makes a good Christmas
tune. And they show plenty of that appreciation on their recording
of 'Just A Simple Christmas Song' (which appeared on their 2002
album 'An Inconvenient Christmas'). The song was written by Randy
VanWarmer, who was famous for his 70's hit 'Just When I Needed You
Most', and is an easy going singalong that is full of good spirit
and gospel/country harmonies.
This wasn't the
first time the Oak Ridge Boys had asked VanWarmer to write a song
for them. Back in 1981 they scored a number 1 hit in the country
charts with the VanWarmer penned 'I Guess It Never Hurts to Hurt
Sometimes'.
