A Time For Peace
Year: 1978
Written By: Erik Robertson, Greg Adams
'A Time For Peace' was written by the songwriting pair of Erik
Robertson and Greg Adams who produced several songs for Roger
Whittaker. It showcases the singer's easy going style and is
impressively backed up by some lush orchestral arrangements.
Gazing at the artwork for the 1978 'The Roger Whittaker Christmas
Album', which contained 'A Time For Peace', you can't help but
acknowledge that Roger Whittaker was really a good sport given the
amount of fake snow that he was forced to wear. His particularly
wide-lensed spectacles (which were de-rigueur at the time) probably
helped reduce the itchy irritation but it's obvious that this man
loved Christmas enough to immerse himself completely in character
each December.
'A Time For Peace' has not been recorded by any other artists of
note over the years.
A Time For Peace Lyrics
Snowflakes fall gently down
We walk on to the distant sound
Christmas carols on the wind
Then Christmas feelings come again
Strangers smile a warm: "Hello"
Angels in the virgin snow
Children gather in the square
The Christmas feelings people share
A time for peace - a special time,
In the hope we may find
Deep within every heart,
The love that very special kind
A love to carry us along,
To carry it be on
Christmas and the love that it gives,
The soul of every Christmas song
Christmas rocks us gently now,
More then just a dream somehow
May that feeling never end,
This Christmas feeling come again
A time for peace - a special time,
In the hope we may find
Deep within every heart,
The love that very special kind
A love to carry us along,
To carry it be on
Christmas and the love that it gives,
The soul of every Christmas song
A time for peace - a special time,
In the hope we may find
Deep within every heart,
The love that very special kind
